Rooted in Faith

Colossians 2:

[1] For I would that you knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
[2] That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
[3] In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
[4] And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
[5] For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
[6] As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
[7] Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
[8] Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
[9] For in him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

America is going through a shaking. It is not by accident. We all have heard that to whom much is given, much is required. Well, America has been given much in the way of life's conveniences. We have been a very blessed nation in the way of comfort. And yet, as a whole, we have turned our back on God. And our arrogance has caught up with us.

We really have no cause for arrogance. We think we are number one. We are number one alright; in divorces, crime, theft, evil, and tolerance of evil, etc. It is not my wish to bash America. It is my goal to open your eyes to what is really going on.

God is in control. What we need to do is take some time, and settle ourselves in faith. We need to really give ourselves to strengthening our relationship with our great God. Give ourselves to study of the scriptures, prayer, and thought and meditation of what we read. Let God settle in your heart.

The winds are here, and will move what is not rooted. This time calls for a deep rooted faith in God. Don't be drawn in to the fear that the world is putting out there. We are not a people blind to the situation. We are a people who are loved, and protected by our God. This era calls for the wisdom of God. Put your eyes on God, and keep them there. He is our sure foundation.

It is a time for the people of God to be the calm ones. We have the answers, and hold the keys to salvation, because of our relationship with God through Jesus. Now is our time to press in to our witness, and let those around us know of the great love that we have been given by God.

Settle yourselves and know that He is God.
